Have You Started the Journey?

You were made for a close relationship with God. But you may yet know God in a personal way through His Son. The Bible says that we have instead chosen to go our own way: “Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;” Isaiah 56:6

Yet the Lord is eager to forgive our sin, restore our fellowship with God, and give us the gift of eternal life. But there are some biblical requirements.

First, We must admit that we are sinners and cannot save ourselves. The bible tells us that “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23

Second, we need to recognize the seriousness of our sin. God sets a standard of perfection in which no one can please Him based on self effort. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 The good news is that Christ Jesus suffered the consequences, making it possible for us to have eternal fellowship with Him. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Third, we need to receive Jesus as Saviour. “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” John 1:12

Are you ready to make that decision? If you are, go to Jesus in prayer now and share with Him your desire to receive forgiveness for sin and to start your journey of a relationship with Him.

Please re-blogged and share 😉

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:18-19
